A DEBT THAT'S OVERDUE

One good stunt deserves another. Senators Boxer and Casey know they're constitutionally restricted from pink slipping their esteemed colleagues until the debt ceiling is lifted. Similarly, Republicans, with only a scintilla of economic sense, realize that failing to raise the debt ceiling could trigger a worldwide flight from T-Bills and the dollar.
But, after holding the budget hostage until they'd exacted their revenge on the infrastructure and us sub-millionaires, the GOP's fiscal ayatollahs are back at the brink, threatening to lower our government's credit rating unless we savage Medicare and other programs that serve the shrinking middle class and embattled, working poor.
The only sure and constitutionally approved means of denying ample paychecks and gilt edged health plans to Boehner, McConnell, Cantor, Ryan and their compassion free brethren is to vote them out of office as soon as possible. It's a debt we owe our country and our future.
